Welcome from Bob Heavey

At 19 years old, Bob started out his sales career by working for his father’s Real Estate firm, J.B. Heavey and Company.  Upon graduation from college, Bob landed a sales position with Atlantic Richfield Company marketing gasoline and motor oil. In 1982 Bob married Dana Donovan and started a family with children Joe, Dan and Jen. In 1987 Bob stepped into the world of Engineering Print Systems and took a sales position with Bruning known for it’s non ammonia “blue print” (diazo) printers. Oce from the Netherlands purchased Bruning and became Oce-Bruning.  After a 10 year stint, Bob had an opportunity to join Xerox Engineering Systems (XES) who was just rolling out a line of new LED equipment called 88xx. Looking back, those 26 years working for these excellent companies allowed Bob to help raise a family and be home at a decent hour every night to help prepare dinner with the love of his life, Dana.

About The Heavey Group

The Heavey Group started out as a company distributing re-manufactured Xerox Wide Format machines filling a gap in the marketplace. Xerox Engineering Systems had left the market and Oce was just taken over by Canon. Bob saw an opportunity in the US for a new player and arranged for a “20 minute meeting” with the CEO of ROWE. The meeting was granted and Bob flew to Frankfurt and drove north to ROWE Headquarters in Niederdreisbach, Germany.

Bob met with sales, service and the managing partner to discuss the possibility of marketing the ROWE line in the U.S. Bob was invited by their Managing Partner to come back the following day to receive a tour of the ROWE factory and a second meeting. After the meeting Bob asked to market the ROWE line in the US. The managing partner agreed and after a round of negotiations, a contract with Roth & Weber was signed and The Heavey Group began distributing ROWE Wide Format in the US. The initial product line was called the RCS series and was almost immediately refreshed in April 2014 with a totally new Scanner and Printer introduction called ecoPrint. The new system is known to be highly reliable with outstanding scan and print quality, easy paper loading, driven by stable and secure Linux based controllers with all major internal components being made of metal.

ROWE will be launching a new Color Scan/Print System called ColorPress in the very near future. The Heavey Group will market the products in the United.States.through it’s existing dealer channel and directly to Engineers, Architects, Construction and Manufacturing companies in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware. ROWE has been in business since 1955 and has a presence in 90 countries. They are known in our industry for producing a line of high quality products meant to last a long time. ROWE also manufactures their own Linux based controllers, software, folding and cutting systems.
